meta : pup

Everyone seems to report that allergies are bad this year due to high ragweed counts and such. Our little girl, Meta, had her own run in with allergies this year. Her right-rear paw was so bad we had to take her to the vet and they were very glad we did. The poor little pup chewed all the hair off her paw and made it quite inflamed, itchy and sore. They gave her a shot of steroids and some pills to help clear it up, however, to ensure she won’t continue licking and chewing it, they put a cone around her head to help give it time to heal. She’s adapting to it slowly but surely and has handled it all with nothing but grace:

Puppy! This is Frankie, Meta’s little sister. She turned 3 weeks old today. Same mother and father, too. Frankie will be joining us soon.

Meta’s new little sister, Frankie, was born yesterday! She is one of the two black-tri girls shown below – we haven’t yet picked which one she will be.

Regardless, we are all very excited for the new arrival in late September or early October.
